A.S.D. “Il Circolo del Panda”, affiliated with CSEN, is based in the city of Rome, at 1070, Nomentana road. It was founded in 1978 as “Tennis Club Panda” by Angelo Pandimiglio, the first president of the association, and then expanded its interest to other sporting disciplines: football, swimming, padel and martial arts. Surrounded by the green fields of the Roman countryside, within the Grande Raccordo Anulare highway, it hosts an historic sporting center, now renamed the “Panda Sporting Club”, recognized for its professional and amateur activities at national and international level along which there have also recently been included ice sports, with an olimpic skating ring. The purpose of the association is to coordinate the various activities that take place inside the sporting center, and to develop for the benefit of its members a holistic knowledge and a mindful awareness of the social role of sports within our own community. Since 2009, in partnership with F.I.L.O. onlus, the Club organizes recreational and sporting initiatives related to Special Olympics for people with intellectual disabilities. Since 2020, in order to achieve its sporting principles to the highest degree, the board of “Il Circolo del Panda” has started and given itself a program of study and scientific research creating the “Center for Spirituality and Sport”, which is dedicated mainly to the field of philosophical educational, for the devolopment of teaching and training, in synergy with the CONI athletes enrolled in the sporting center, through designated instructors, mentors and technicians.
